A stable camera feed is not permission to keep flying outward. The transmission rating measures the potential radio link. It does not account for visual-line-of-sight rules, a safe battery reserve, changing wind, or obstacles along an automated return path.
Battery distance is not the same as a safe flight radius
DJI's maximum flight-distance test uses a controlled wind-tunnel environment equivalent to windless operation at sea level. The aircraft flies forward at 43.2 km/h in Photo mode until forced landing from battery depletion. DJI publishes 18 km with the standard Intelligent Flight Battery and 25 km with Intelligent Flight Battery Plus.

A tailwind on the outbound leg is a common trap. It makes distance accumulate quickly, but returning into the same wind can require more time and energy. There is no honest universal real-world range number. The same aircraft can maintain a clean link in one open location and struggle at a much shorter distance around buildings, trees, hills, or concentrated wireless traffic.

The aircraft's 10.7 m/s Level 5 wind-resistance rating is not a recommended wind for long-distance operation. A small drone may hold position in wind while consuming substantially more energy than expected, especially during the return leg.
GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo help the Mini 3 maintain position and record a Home Point, but satellite positioning does not strengthen the O2 radio link.
