To update the Holy Stone HS360S, update HS FLY through your phone's official app store. The HS360S V5.2 manual says its firmware cannot be upgraded, so there is no documented owner firmware-flashing procedure to follow. After updating the app, reconnect and check it on the ground before flying.

What an HS360S update actually changes
The app is software on your phone; firmware is software inside the aircraft. Installing a new phone app does not, by itself, establish that software inside the drone has changed. Holy Stone directs owners to app-store updates in the HS360S manual, printed page 60. Its interface illustrations may differ from your installed app.
Use the official HS360S beginner guide to reach the correct download. A search result containing the aircraft's name could be a tutorial app rather than the flight app. Check the listing itself: the official Google Play listing and U.S. App Store listing identify Holy Stone Technology as the developer.
A store release note also needs context. A change mentioned for another device supported by the same app does not establish that your HS360S gains that feature. Use the update offered to your phone rather than trying to match a version number from another operating system or an old video.
Before updating: preserve a useful starting point
Set aside time at home for the update and checks, rather than starting the download when you are ready to take off. Keep the aircraft off while updating the phone app. Have an internet connection and enough phone charge and free storage to finish installation.
- Note your phone model, operating-system version and installed HS FLY version wherever your device displays it.
- Save any recordings you need and take screenshots of your current flight settings. This gives you a reference if the layout or values look different afterward.
- If troubleshooting, write down the exact symptom before changing anything: installation fails, app will not open, or the live view is missing.
- Keep the supplied phone connection cable available for the ground check.
These are diagnostic precautions, not a claim that an update resets settings or deletes files. Avoid uninstalling the app as the first step: an ordinary update is a simpler starting point, and preserving your information makes later troubleshooting more useful.
Update HS FLY on iPhone or Android
iPhone
Follow Apple's manual app-update instructions:
- Open the App Store and tap your account button or photo at the top.
- Open App Updates.
- Find HS FLY and tap Update if it is offered.
- Wait for installation to finish, then open HS FLY.
For automatic updates, Apple places the control under Settings, Apps, App Store, App Updates. Even with automatic updates enabled, make checking the app part of your preparation before a flight session.
Android
Use Google's documented Play Store update route:
- Open Google Play and tap your profile icon.
- Select Manage apps & device.
- Under Updates available, open See details.
- Update HS FLY if it appears, then wait for installation to finish.
You can also open its official store detail page and use Update when available. Google notes that an update may require new permissions or a device restart. Read any prompt and understand the requested access; do not blindly change unrelated phone settings.
If the store shows Open without offering Update, record that result. It does not prove that a separate drone firmware update is missing. If installation fails, resolve that store problem before attempting aircraft reconnection. Do not substitute an APK mirror or a file advertised as an HS360S firmware fix.
Reconnect and check the result on the ground
Follow the model's normal preflight preparation, remove the camera cover, and pair the aircraft and transmitter. Connect the supplied cable with its transmitter-marked end at the transmitter and its other end at the phone. Open HS FLY's live-feed view. On Android, the manual specifies charge only if asked to choose a connection mode. See printed pages 17–20 of the manual.
Keep the motors stopped during the app check. Work through these observations in order:
- App launch: it opens and remains usable. An app that immediately closes has not passed this check.
- Live view: confirm that the displayed scene changes, rather than assuming a frozen image means the connection is working.
- Settings: compare the displayed flight limits and return settings with your saved reference. Investigate unexpected changes before takeoff.
- Camera operation: make a short stationary recording and check that you can find and play it back.
This separates successful installation from a usable connection. Neither result alone establishes that the aircraft is ready for flight. Complete the normal preflight checks as well; postpone flying if warnings, missing information or unstable behavior remain.
If the update appears to have caused a problem
Change one thing at a time and repeat the same ground observation. Otherwise, a restart, cable change and settings change made together leave you unsure which action mattered.
- The app will not update: capture the store error and follow the store's help route. Aircraft calibration cannot fix a phone installation error.
- The app opens but there is no changing live view: recheck the documented cable connection and Android connection choice before blaming firmware.
- A setting has moved or disappeared: save a screenshot and compare the current app with your reference. Do not follow an old button sequence blindly.
- You see an unexpected firmware prompt: stop and ask Holy Stone to identify it for your exact HS360S before proceeding. Do not use instructions intended for a similarly named aircraft.
For an unresolved fault, use HS360S support. Provide your model, phone and operating system, app version, screenshots, exact error and the stage where it fails. State whether the same setup worked before the update. That gives support a reproducible problem instead of a request for an unspecified firmware file.
