How to Transfer HOVERAir X1 PRO Videos to a Phone or Flight Controllers

To transfer HOVERAir X1 PRO videos to a phone, connect in the HOVER X1 app, open the aircraft album and join the camera's Wi-Fi when prompted. For a computer, connect the powered-on camera with a USB-C data cable and copy the files. If you recorded sound through the app, export that video through the app before archiving it.

1. Prepare the camera and destination

This procedure covers the HOVERAir X1 PRO Standard. Start after landing, with recording finished and the propellers stopped. Have enough battery charge to finish the copy and check free space on the phone or computer before selecting a large batch.

Use the official app download linked from the X1 PRO support center. If the camera still needs activation or initial pairing, complete the HOVERAir X1 PRO setup steps first. Hold the camera's power button until its screen turns on; follow the app's connection and permission prompts. For a computer copy, you can go straight to the USB steps below.

Check the installed app and aircraft versions when troubleshooting. On September 10, 2026, HOVERAir's release notes list X1 PRO/PROMAX firmware v8.4.15, dated August 6, 2026. That entry describes flight-related improvements and general fixes, not a specific transfer repair. Updates roll out gradually, so use the version offered for your device rather than treating a published version number as a download requirement.

2. Download to a phone over Wi-Fi

Bluetooth establishes the app connection and can show low-resolution thumbnails. The full download uses the camera's Wi-Fi. The Quick Start Guide available from HOVERAir support, English page 14, makes this distinction and identifies the saved-media locations.

  1. Open the app's Hover page and connect to your X1 PRO.
  2. Open Album, select one existing clip and start its download.
  3. Accept the prompt to connect to the aircraft's Wi-Fi and wait for the connection to complete. Remain on that connection for the transfer.
  4. Wait for the download to finish. Look in Home > Moments or your phone's local gallery, as described in the manual.
  5. Open the saved clip and check its beginning and ending before downloading the remaining batch.

A thumbnail alone is not confirmation that you have the video. As a practical check, disconnect from the camera after the download, then reopen the clip from the phone's gallery. You should be able to play the local copy without reconnecting to the aircraft.

3. Copy to a Windows PC or Mac

HOVERAir's X1 PRO getting-started guide documents direct computer transfer with a USB-C data cable while the camera is powered on. A charging-only cable cannot perform that task. Use a data-capable cable that fits both devices.

  1. Connect the camera to the computer and keep the camera powered on.
  2. On Windows, open File Explorer > This PC and look for the connected device or storage. On a Mac, check Locations in the Finder sidebar.
  3. Browse the visible storage for the recorded clips. Use Copy and Paste to put one in a clearly named local folder, such as a folder for that day's flight. Leave the source in place.
  4. Play the copy from the computer folder. Once that succeeds, copy the remaining recordings and wait until all copy operations finish.
  5. Use the operating system's eject control when available before disconnecting. Keep the originals until you finish the checks below.

These desktop steps follow Microsoft's external-storage copy instructions and Apple's Finder storage instructions. Folder and device names can differ; use what the computer actually displays rather than looking for one assumed directory name.

If you already recorded onto a compatible removable card, HOVERAir also documents taking the card out for direct transfer. As a precaution, finish recording and power off before removing it, then use your existing compatible reader. Check that the recordings you want are actually on that card. Cancel any format prompt while it holds your only copy.

4. Preserve recorded sound separately from the original video

For footage recorded with app sound, HOVERAir specifically directs users to download through the X1 app. Its computer-transfer instructions warn that sound recording is available when exporting through the app. Do not assume a direct camera-file copy is the same finished video.

Keep the camera original and the app export in separate folders until you have checked both. Listen to the exported clip with the player unmuted, including a moment where you remember speaking. If you need the finished version on a computer, move that verified phone export there and listen again. Naming the folders “camera originals” and “app exports” makes accidental substitution less likely.

5. Troubleshoot the first failed step

Work from the last thing that succeeded. These checks narrow the problem; they do not prove that a particular component has failed.

  • The app cannot find the camera: confirm power and the requested Bluetooth permissions. The manual's pairing procedure holds both select buttons until the status light turns blue. Use that procedure if pairing is the failed step.
  • You see thumbnails but the download does not start: return to the camera's Wi-Fi connection prompt. Seeing the album over Bluetooth does not establish the download connection.
  • The computer only charges the camera: confirm that the camera is on and that the cable supports data. Try another suitable data connection you already have before concluding the port is faulty.
  • A copy stops partway: check destination space and power, then retry one clip into a new folder. Keep the original and the failed copy distinguishable until you know which file plays correctly.

If the picture plays but the subject is poorly framed, review the recording before changing transfer settings. Use the X1 PRO tracking-settings guide for the next shoot; copying a file again will not reframe the captured scene.

If the same clip still fails, retain the source recording. If possible, check the other transfer route to distinguish a connection problem from a problem affecting that clip. Give support the failed step, displayed error, app and aircraft versions, phone or computer model, and whether other clips copy successfully. Avoid erasing or resetting storage as a first response.

Finish with a copy you can trust

Before deleting anything from the camera, open the destination files independently of it. Check the expected clip count, duration, picture and sound. For footage you cannot repeat, keep a second copy in a separate backup location. A successful transfer ends with a usable recording you can find again, not just a completed progress bar.
