- Choose a legal, open location with no people, vehicles, trees, wires, walls, or terrain along the planned path.
- Inspect the aircraft and confirm suitable GPS status, Home Point, battery, wind, visibility, and Return to Home altitude.
- Frame the shot manually before selecting the subject or starting the automated maneuver.
- Use a short QuickShot that matches the available clearance rather than choosing the largest possible route.
- Remain ready to cancel the maneuver and take control if the subject selection, path, wind, or surroundings change.
- For a moving sequence, use a separate competent pilot so the person being filmed is not also trying to move and operate the aircraft.
A static hover can also work for a simple walk-through shot when a pilot controls the aircraft and maintains situational awareness. True Vertical Shooting makes the Mini 3 useful for portrait-format social content, but vertical capture does not add tracking.

Can an app or firmware update add tracking?
Current official Mini 3 documentation does not list an ActiveTrack or FocusTrack feature that can be enabled through a normal DJI Fly setting.
